Effect of Repeal on Existing Rights

When a law is repealed, it does not erase things already done under it, rights already earned, or lawsuits already started before the repeal takes effect. This section protects those existing rights and legal actions.

The repeal of any law shall not affect any act done, or any right accruing, accrued, acquired, or established, or any suit or proceedings had or commenced in any civil case, before the time when the repeal takes effect.
