HRS §11-9

Exemptions for the Elections Commission

This section frees the elections commission from certain state budget and management rules. It lets the commission talk directly to the governor and legislature, handle its own hiring and firing, and buy its own supplies without the comptroller's approval. It must still follow all personnel laws.
