Hazard mitigation special fund

This section creates a special state fund for hazard mitigation. Money goes into it from certain sources and can only be spent on the agency's costs to run the hazard mitigation program. It does not set amounts or deadlines.

The statute, as written — Hazard mitigation special fund

(a) There is established in the state treasury the hazard mitigation special fund, into which shall be deposited: (1) All revenues from any recovery or reimbursement pursuant to section 127A-18; (2) Appropriations made by the legislature for deposit into the fund; (3) All contributions from public or private partners; and (4) All interest earned on or accrued to moneys deposited in the special fund. (b) Moneys in the hazard mitigation special fund shall be used for personnel costs and operating and administrative costs deemed necessary by the agency to administer section 127A-18.
