HRS §132-3

How the state fire code is adopted and updated

The state fire council must create a state fire code with minimum safety rules to protect people and property from fires. This includes rules for hazardous materials and dangerous building conditions. The code becomes part of Hawaii's building codes, and the council reviews it every year.
