What a certified biosecurity auditor can and cannot certify

A certified biosecurity compliance auditor can certify items in a transitional facility as free of diseases, infections, infestations, or other relevant problems, but only if the compliance agreement allows it. The auditor cannot certify items outside that facility unless the department gives special permission.

[Section effective January 1, 2028.] (a) Subject to the terms of the compliance agreement, a certified biosecurity compliance auditor may certify items located in a transitional facility as free of diseases, infections, infestations, and other items that the department deems relevant. (b) Unless authorized by the department, a certified biosecurity compliance auditor shall not certify any items located outside a transitional facility where the certified biosecurity compliance auditor is authorized to conduct inspections to ensure compliance.
