HRS §161-24
Sanitation inspections for poultry plants
The board must have veterinarians or poultry inspectors check the cleanliness of poultry slaughtering and processing plants that only sell within Hawaii. The board sets the sanitation rules for these plants. If a plant is so dirty that the poultry is unsafe, the board can stop it from using the Hawaii Inspected and Passed label.
