Approval needed for new uses of Waimano ridge land

The health department must tell nearby neighborhood boards and legislators at least 90 days before starting new or expanded uses of Waimano ridge land, like treatment facilities or labs. It also needs the governor's approval first. This section only covers that notice and approval requirement.

The department of health shall provide at least ninety days notification to the affected neighborhood boards and legislators that represent the district where Waimano ridge is located, and obtain the approval of the governor prior to new uses or the expanded use of the land as a sex offender treatment facility, drug treatment facility, state laboratory, or other uses.
