HRS §183D-6

Permits for taking wildlife for science, education, or breeding

The department can take wildlife for science, education, or breeding, and can give permits to others for the same reasons, unless state law forbids it. Permits can be revoked for breaking rules, and a revoked permit means no new permit for a year. Wildlife taken under a permit must have the permit with it.
