Keeping wild birds in captivity is banned

This law says you cannot keep a wild bird in captivity unless it was legally brought into Hawaii or was born in captivity from legally imported birds. There is an exception in another section. This rule is about protecting wild birds.

Except as provided in section 183D-61, no person shall keep in captivity any wild bird unless the bird was lawfully imported into the State or was bred in captivity from birds lawfully imported.
