Rules for housing projects with urban gardens

This section lets the housing corporation create programs that reward housing projects with urban gardens. The University of Hawaii's agriculture college must be asked for advice on best gardening practices. It does not set specific rules or penalties.

The statute, as written — Urban gardening programs

Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the corporation may develop programs that provide incentives for the development of housing projects that incorporate urban gardening programs; provided that the college of tropical agriculture and human resources of the University of Hawaii at Manoa shall be consulted regarding best practices in urban gardening, including vertical gardening, aquaponics, and community gardening.
