HRS §269-27.8
How electric cooperatives can recover wildfire costs
This section lets an electric cooperative charge customers for wildfire-related costs that the Public Utilities Commission approves. The cooperative can do this through an automatic rate adjustment or another tariff method the commission sets up. It defines an electric cooperative as a public utility meeting certain requirements.
