HRS §286-114
What happens to a minor's driving permit if the adult who signed dies
If the adult who signed a minor's driving application dies, the driver's license office must cancel the minor's permit or license. The minor must turn it in and cannot get a new one until they file a new application. This rule does not apply if the minor is already an adult.
