Pedestrians' right-of-way on sidewalks

When a driver comes out of or goes into an alley, building, private road, or driveway, they must let any pedestrian on the sidewalk that crosses that entrance go first. This rule is about who must yield in that specific situation.

The driver of a vehicle emerging from or entering an alley, building, private road, or driveway shall yield the right-of-way to any pedestrian approaching on any sidewalk extending across the alley, building entrance, road, or driveway.
