State protection for people who report in good faith

If you report something under the law in good faith, the State will protect you from being sued for making that report. This means the State takes responsibility for any civil legal costs or damages that could come from your report.

The statute, as written — Indemnity upon reporting

The State shall indemnify and hold harmless anyone participating in good faith in making a report pursuant to section 302A-1002 from any civil liability that might otherwise be incurred or imposed by, or as a result of, the making of the report.
