When the department can take back a certificate

The department can cancel a certificate it already gave out if the person holding it no longer has the required qualifications. This rule does not apply to teacher licenses from the Hawaii teacher standards board.

The department may revoke any certificate after its issuance if the certificate holder does not possess the requisite qualifications. For the purposes of this section, the term "certificate" does not include a license issued by the Hawaii teacher standards board pursuant to part III, subpart D.
