Keeping health care information private

This section lets a state agency make rules to keep certain health information confidential. It applies to information that health care providers and insurers give the agency about people who receive care or insurance. The agency must follow the state's rule-making process.

The statute, as written — Confidentiality of information

The state agency may adopt rules in accordance with chapter 91 to provide that information submitted to the state agency by providers of health care and health care insurance concerning recipients of health care or health care insurance, or both, shall be confidential.
