HRS §334-101
Creating a statewide system of community mental health homes
This section explains the state's goal to create a network of community-based mental health programs as an alternative to hospitals. The department can fund these programs with existing money or by asking the legislature for more. Any public or private nonprofit group in Hawaii can apply to run one, and the state will give guidelines but allow flexibility.
