HRS §336-4
Who pays for returning people to another state
This section says who pays when someone is sent back to another state. The State pays for returning nonresidents, but the other state pays for its own residents. If special funds are unavailable, the money comes from the care fund for the insane or incompetent and delinquent, with the health director's approval.
