HRS §342P-3

Duties, rules, powers, appointment of hearings officers

This section gives the director of health the job of reviewing asbestos and lead abatement plans and inspecting abatement projects. It also lets the director make state rules about asbestos and lead, and appoint hearings officers for public meetings. The rules must follow the state's rulemaking process, and people who speak at hearings must get written notice of what the department decides.
