Medical checkup and health records for new prisoners

When someone is admitted to a state correctional facility, the facility's medical officer must examine them and create a medical record. The record must include the person's physical condition at entry and all later medical care and exams while they are there.

The statute, as written — Examination by medical officer

The medical officer of a correctional facility shall carefully examine any committed person upon admission and shall establish a medical record and enter therein a statement of the committed person's physical condition upon entry and all subsequent medical treatment and examination made while such person is residing at a state correctional facility.
