Who gets property given to a committed person
This section says what happens to property given to or earned by a person committed to prison. If they have a set sentence, their conservator manages it. If they are serving life, their heirs or legatees get it. Money in a special account is controlled by the prison director.

All property given or in any manner whatsoever accruing to a committed person, shall vest in the committed person's conservator, if the committed person is sentenced for a term of years, to be disposed of in the same manner as the committed person's other property; or if the committed person is sentenced for life, shall vest in the committed person's heirs or legatees; provided that any funds accumulated by the committed person and placed into an account as provided under section 353 - 20 shall be under the control and management of the director.
