HRS §387-9
Lower minimum wage for learners, apprentices, students, and paroled youth
This section lets the state labor director allow certain workers—like learners, apprentices, full-time students, and paroled youth—to be paid less than minimum wage under special permits. The director sets the limits and must protect other workers' full-time jobs.
