HRS §392-78
Repaying benefits you got but were not entitled to
If you got disability benefits you were not supposed to get, you may have to pay them back, unless it was not your fault and repayment would be unfair. The notice will explain why and for which weeks. You can repay or have future benefits reduced, without interest.

(a) Any person who has received any amount as benefits under this chapter to which the person was not entitled shall be liable for such amount unless the overpayment was received without fault on the part of the recipient and its recovery would be against equity and good conscience.
