Rights and duties for foreign corporations already doing business here

Foreign corporations that were already allowed to do business in Hawaii on July 1, 2001, get the same rights and privileges as newly authorized foreign corporations. They also must follow the same rules, limits, and duties from that date forward.

The statute, as written — Application to corporations heretofore authorized to transact business in this State

Foreign corporations that are duly authorized to transact business in this State on July 1, 2001, for a purpose or purposes for which a corporation might secure the authority under this chapter, shall be entitled to all of the rights and privileges applicable to foreign corporations procuring certificates of authority to transact business in this State under this chapter, and from July 1, 2001 the corporations shall be subject to all of the limitations, restrictions, liabilities, and duties prescribed herein for foreign corporations procuring certificates of authority to transact business in this State under this chapter.
