Who can own an insurance policy on someone else

This section says that the word "insured" does not stop someone else who has a proper financial interest in the insured person from applying for and owning an insurance policy on that person. That other owner can also receive the policy's benefits and rights.

The word, insured, as used in this part, shall not be construed as preventing a person other than the insured with a proper insurable interest from making application for and owning a policy covering the insured, or from being entitled under such a policy to any indemnities, benefits, and rights provided therein.
