HRS §431:10D-110
When a reinstated life insurance policy can be challenged
If you reinstate a life insurance policy or annuity contract, the company can challenge it for fraud or false statements about the reinstatement, but only for the same time period as the original contestability period. This section sets that rule.
The statute, as written — Incontestability after reinstatement
The reinstatement of any policy of life insurance or contract of annuity delivered or issued for delivery in this State may be contestable on account of fraud or misrepresentation of facts material to the reinstatement only for the same period following reinstatement as the policy provides with respect to contestability after original issuance.
