HRS §431:15-405

When Hawaii can start extra insurance actions

This section lets Hawaii's insurance commissioner decide whether to start special legal proceedings against a foreign or alien insurer that has property in Hawaii. The commissioner can do this on their own or when asked by the insurance official from the insurer's home state. It is a narrow rule about who can trigger these proceedings.
