HRS §431M-2

Health plans must cover mental health and addiction treatment

Most health insurance plans in Hawaii must cover treatment for alcohol, drug, and mental health problems. These plans cannot make it harder to get mental health or addiction care than to get regular medical care. Some limited plans, like those for only one disease, are not covered by this rule.
