HRS §445-90.5
Government and nonprofit facilities are exempt
This section says that a facility owned or used by a government agency, or by a registered nonprofit agency that provides services under a government contract, does not have to follow the rules in this chapter. It is a narrow exemption for those specific facilities.
The statute, as written — Exemption
A facility owned or used by a government agency or by a nonprofit agency which is registered with the department of commerce and consumer affairs and providing services by contract for a government agency, shall be exempt from this chapter.
