Prohibited acts; penalties

This section makes it illegal to pretend you are a licensed dietitian when you are not, or to keep using that title while your license is suspended, revoked, or inactive. Breaking this rule can lead to a fine, and each day counts as a separate violation.

The statute, as written — Prohibited acts; penalties

(a) No person shall: (1) Use in connection with the person's name any designation tending to imply that the person is a licensed dietitian unless the person is duly licensed and authorized under this chapter; or (2) Represent oneself as a licensed dietitian during the time the person's license issued under this chapter is forfeited, inactive, terminated, suspended, or revoked. (b) Any person who violates this section shall be subject to a fine of not more than $1,000 and each day's violation shall be deemed a separate offense.
