HRS §453-34

How to get an EMT 1 license and what it allows

This section says the Hawaii medical board can issue licenses for different levels of emergency medical workers, including EMT 1. Starting July 1, 2022, you can apply for an EMT 1 license if you finish an approved course, pass exams, have CPR certification, and pay fees. Once licensed, you must document care in a specific system, work under a doctor, and only do basic emergency care.
