HRS §456-4

Notaries must file their commission and seal with the court

New notaries must give the circuit court clerk in their home circuit a copy of their commission, a seal impression, and a signature sample. They may also file these with other circuit courts. The clerk can then confirm the notary's official status. Electronic seals are not covered by this rule.
