HRS §46-4.6
Residential use allowed in commercial zones starting 2025
Starting January 1, 2025, homes and apartment buildings are allowed in areas zoned for commercial use, unless the area is under a special chapter. Local rules may limit homes to upper floors and set development standards. This makes residential use automatically permitted in those commercial zones.
