HRS §467-22

What happens when the fund pays a judgment

If the real estate commission pays someone from the recovery fund because a court ordered it or the commission settled a claim, the commission takes over the person's rights to collect that money. The person must give the commission their interest in the judgment or settlement. Any money the commission collects goes back into the fund.
