Longer cancellation time when seller lacks a contractor license

If a home repair or improvement contract requires a contractor license and the seller does not have one, the buyer gets more time to cancel. The cancellation period is extended to 30 calendar days. This section only changes the cancellation deadline for unlicensed sellers.

If the contract referred to in section 481C-1 is for activities subject to chapter 444 and the seller does not possess the license required by that chapter, the cancellation period to be provided in section 481C-2 shall be extended to thirty calendar days.
