How the water board can get land for water systems

The county water board can buy, lease, or otherwise get property within the county if it needs that land for building, keeping up, expanding, or running its water systems. The county council must approve any such deal before the board can act.

The board of water supply may, in the name of the county, subject to the approval of the council of the county, acquire and take by purchase, lease, or otherwise, all property situated within the limits of the county that it may determine necessary for the construction, maintenance, extension, or operation of any of the waterworks and water systems under its jurisdiction and control.
