Court-arranged housing for children

This section lets the family court arrange housing for children in foster homes or child care institutions, either through a contract or by paying per service. The places used must meet the standards of another law. It is a narrow rule about how the court can provide these accommodations.

The statute, as written — Contract and fee-for-service accommodations

To provide for children under section 571-32, the family court may provide, on a contractual or on fee-for-service basis, accommodations in child caring institutions or foster boarding homes which meet the intent of section 346-17.
