Minor parents can start a child support case

This section allows a parent who is under 18, or someone legally acting for that parent, to bring a court case for the child's benefit. It makes clear that being a minor does not stop a parent from seeking support.

A minor parent, or a guardian or other legal representative of a minor parent, may maintain a proceeding on behalf of or for the benefit of the minor's child.
