HRS §587D-4

Reporting a newborn left at a safe place

This section says what staff at hospitals, fire stations, police stations, or emergency services must do after someone leaves a newborn with them. They must report it to the state child welfare department, but only after the person who left the baby has gone. If the baby is hurt, they must call law enforcement right away, even if the person is still there.
