HRS §657D-15
How long a court pause lasts and when others can be sued
This section says that when a court pauses a case or action because of military service, the pause lasts for the service period plus 90 days, or any part of that time. The court can set conditions, like paying in installments. If the service member is one of several defendants, the plaintiff can continue against the others only with court permission.

Where the person in military service is a co-defendant with others, the plaintiff may proceed against the others by leave of the court.
