HRS §6D-4

Disturbing native organisms in caves

This law makes it illegal to remove, kill, or seriously harm native or endemic organisms in a cave unless you have a scientific permit. It does not stop normal fishing or gathering allowed by other laws, and it does not apply to caves found during construction if required protections are followed. It also does not restrict surface activities above a cave.
