Civil penalties for breaking this law

This section sets fines for anyone who breaks this chapter or its rules. Each separate violation gets its own fine, and each day a violation continues counts as a new violation. The fines range from $500 to $20,000 per violation.

The statute, as written — Civil penalties

Except as provided in section 6E-11, any person who violates this chapter, or any rule adopted pursuant to this chapter shall be fined not less than $500 nor more than $20,000 for each separate violation. Each day of each violation constitutes a separate violation.
