When prisoners can be let out early

This section says when a prisoner can be released if their sentence ends at certain times. If the sentence ends between 9 p.m. and midnight, they can leave at 9 p.m. If it ends between midnight and 7 a.m., they can leave at 9 p.m. the night before.

The statute, as written — Time of release

A person imprisoned whose term of imprisonment ends between the hours of 9:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight, may be released at 9:00 p.m. A person imprisoned whose term of imprisonment ends between the hours of 12:00 midnight to 7:00 a.m. may be released at 9:00 p.m. the day before the person's scheduled release.
