Water Safety Day

This section creates Water Safety Day on May 15 every year. Its purpose is to teach Hawaii's young people about drowning prevention and water safety. It is not a state holiday, so it does not give anyone a day off from work or school.

The statute, as written — Water Safety Day

May 15 of each year shall be known and designated as "Water Safety Day" to spread awareness of drowning and educate Hawaii's youth in becoming safer in and around the water. This day is not and shall not be construed to be a state holiday.
