How long a peace bond lasts and how to renew it

This section says a peace bond can last no more than one year, as set by the judge. Within 30 days before it ends, the person who asked for it can renew it by swearing they still fear the prisoner. The judge must agree the fear is reasonable.

The bond shall be limited in its operation to a term not exceeding one year, the same to be fixed by the district judge, and at any time within thirty days of the expiration of the term, the complainant may renew the complainant's application, and the order for security may be renewed on the oath of the complainant, declaring that the complainant still fears the execution of the prisoner's former designs, provided the district judge, after hearing the circumstances of the case, shall deem such fear well-founded.
