Right to see evidence before trial

People on trial can look at all written statements taken against them, or copies, without paying a fee. They can do this at the time of their trial. The statements must have been given to the court as required by law.

The statute, as written — Depositions, right to inspect

All persons under trial shall be entitled at the time of their trial to inspect without fee or reward all depositions, or copies of the depositions, which have been taken against them, and delivered in manner by law required to the proper officer of the court before which the trial is had.
