HRS §88-136
No accidental disability benefit for off-duty accidents
This section says that if a member becomes unable to work due to an accident or war injury that happens while they are not working for the State or a county, they cannot get the accidental disability benefit. However, they may still get an ordinary disability retirement benefit if they qualify for it.
