Contributions for unpaid leaves of absence

If you take an unpaid leave and want that time to count toward your retirement membership, you must pay the required contributions within one year after you return to work. This section only covers that payment rule.

Contributions required as a condition to inclusion in membership service of unpaid leaves of absence shall be made by the member within one year after return from the leave of absence.
