HRS §88-74.6
Full retirement pay for emergency medical technicians
This section lets certain emergency medical technicians who joined the retirement system before July 1, 2012, get a full (unreduced) retirement allowance even if they are under age 55. To qualify, they must have a specific number of years of credited service as an EMT, with the last five or more years before retirement in that role. The required years depend on when the service was completed.
