HRS §88E-5

How board members are chosen and how long they serve

The governor picks most board members with the senate's approval, and they serve four-year terms. The first board had shorter terms for some members. If a member leaves early, the governor picks a replacement to finish that term. A member can keep serving until a replacement is named.
